Sixty members of the South Australian branches of the Vindicatrix Association of South Australia, the Merchant Navy Association, Naval Associationof Australia, the Armed Merchant Cruisers and Landing Ships Infantry Association and two Vietnam veterans attended a special Sea Sunday celebration on July 8.
Sea Sunday was staged at the Naval Association clubrooms in Quebec Street, Port Adelaide and the officiating Chaplain was Ray Prettejohn.
After the Service, those present enjoyed a late lunch and a few cold ones at the bar in the superbly decorated clubrooms. Nowhere in Australia is there a such a collection of naval memorabilia and it should be heritage listed.
Sea Sunday was organised by Merchant Navy Association President Norm Anderson and Margaret Adair with support from Tony Iles and other members of the Vindicatrix Association and the Naval Association.
